The mark is usually lost in the minute that matters. The rod loads, the phone is in a pocket or a wet hand, and the spot you meant to save is already behind the boat. Later you write the log from memory, a hundred metres from the strike.
That is not a discipline problem. A form is the wrong tool when one hand is on the rod. Species, weight, and a photo can wait. The position of the strike cannot.
Jig Mode is the fight, not the paperwork
Jig Mode is Pro. Start it and the drift is tracked for you. Strike, fight, and catch are single big buttons. There is no species list and no weight field while the fish is on. Those wait until you are back on the bench and your hands are dry.
The lock screen is the same idea. Strike, Catch, Landed, or Lost, with Undo if you miss-tap. You do not unlock the phone with wet hands to keep the session honest.
The trip stays on the phone
Afterwards you can replay the drift, with each strike and catch where it happened, and share a trip card: time out, distance, catches, and the deepest fish. The card is the story of the session. It is not your pin. Trip tracks, fights, and trip photos stay on the phone. Only the spots you choose to save are synced to the account.
A jigging log that asks you to type during the fight will not get used. Jig Mode exists so the mark is saved while you are still fighting the fish.
